Frank "Commish" Wala was the founder and commissioner of the MFDA, and he ran the league and tournaments for the better part of 4 decades. Frank passed away April 3, 2020 and will be greatly missed by many. He was a friend, mentor, and a staple in the dart world for many years. He did his best to provide a great league and tournament experience while sticking with the traditional steel tip dart format. His influence touched hundreds of great people through his efforts, and he will continue to share his influence through the ongoing efforts we will make to continue his dart legacy.

There will be a memorial celebration held at a later date yet to be determined due to the current health situation. Frank's son, Jeff Wala, will be working with Bub's Irish Pub in Germantown to coordinate the event. We will work with them to update everyone as to the timing here on the site, as well as work to have a benefit dart tournament in conjunction or at another time depending on logistics
